As you know, fall is around the corner. That means for us at our Market Garden, crop rotation time! We are slowly emptying out the farm beds of our summery, warm veggies like cucumbers and zucchinis and planting seeds for the return of cooler crops. Expect to see things like lettuce, greens, kale, collards, carrots, beans and beets! Learn more about our CSA veggie boxes!
This week at Growing Eden, kids, moms, coordinators and volunteers created beautiful, ephemeral art using flower pedals, leaves, grass and branches we foraged for on site. Farmer’s on 57th Market Garden also donated a bunch of farm fresh flowers for our art and for families to take home. As the summer is heating up, it was a nice break from the sun. We sat together in …

This morning I went to the farm alone. It was the first time I was totally alone here. Moving through this place I have come to know in the past moths, I see it as completely new – as I move through it now at this relaxed pace. Efficiency, planning, and mindfulness carefully keep the market garden in operation. Timing here is …
Like the Market Garden and Garden Club at the Pearson Hospital, Growing Eden is very special and unique in its own way. This is a place primarily for children and their families to be together in the garden. Connected to Family Place, an ‘Early Years’ family support and parenting centre, a non-profit organization offering programs and services to families with children. Family Place is similar to a …
