Next to our Market Garden where we grow and harvest local foods for CSA boxes, is Garden Club.
Garden Club is a Therapeutic Garden for the residents at the George Pearson Centre. Raised planting beds filled with fruits, veggies, herbs and flowers are planted and cared for by the Pearson residents with the help of volunteers. Each week, Garden Club offers everyone a break from our daily routines, and time to be together outside. Each week we harvest whatever is ready to be picked, make smoothies together using our harvest, arrange beautiful bouquet’s of fresh flowers to share throughout Pearson Centre, and enjoy the most delicious cakes imaginable, made fresh by one of our amazing volunteers! Arts and craft and DIY foodie projects such as apple chips, pickling, and making jam are not uncommon!
This week our smoothie was a hit, including apples, cucumber, raspberries, strawberries, plums and bananas!
