This Thursday was a blast in our South Vancouver Growing Eden garden.
The kids picked beets and we made beet paint. Paint got everywhere: the ground, our hands and faces, basically anything in sight.
Through it all the kids learned about growing beets, ate beets, and made the most brilliant colours you ever did see.
Moms cleaned up the garlic harvest and prepared baskets of groceries to take home.
Everyone went home with fully bellies of barbecued veggie and chicken skewers, potato salad and garden salad that we ate together under the dappled shade of the trees.
